The aim of present paper is to introduce the concept of ‘expressive perception’ in Ernst Cassirer’s philosophical mythology. Having Cited Dorothy Emmet’s methodological objection, the author, by recalling Kantian aspect of Cassirer’s thought and referring to the concept of ‘expressive perception’, would make an attempt to reply on his part: according to Cassirer, this level of perceptive experience is the origin of the mythical form of thinking as a whole and, at the same time, is the original and irreducible altogether. On Kant and Husserl on transcendental logic.Mohammad Shafiei & Ahmad Ali Akbar Mesgari - 2020 - Synthese 198 (12):11881-11896.
It is well known that the notion of transcendental logic has a prominent role in both Kant’s and Husserl’s theories of knowledge. The main aim of the present paper is to study the links between formal and transcendental logic in Husserl on the one hand, and the links between general logic and transcendental logic in Kant on the other. There is a debate about the proper relation between transcendental logic and general logic in Kant’s philosophy. By means of our definition (...)

Intelligent Computation Offloading for IoT Applications in Scalable Edge Computing Using Artificial Bee Colony Optimization.Mohammad Babar, Muhammad Sohail Khan, Ahmad Din, Farman Ali, Usman Habib & Kyung Sup Kwak - 2021 - Complexity 2021:1-12.
Most of the IoT-based smart systems require low latency and crisp response time for their applications. Achieving the demand of this high Quality of Service becomes quite challenging when computationally intensive tasks are offloaded to the cloud for execution. Edge computing therein plays an important role by introducing low network latency, quick response, and high bandwidth. However, offloading computations at a large scale overwhelms the edge server with many requests and the scalability issue originates. To address the above issues, an (...)

Further, where two ontologies can be merged their conceptualizations are special. They are systems of institutional facts which are interlocking. The argument is based on the literature of the federated database problem and on the concepts of speech act and institutional fact.

Ethical Problems of Observational Studies and Big Data Compared to Randomized Trials.Jean Raymond, Robert Fahed & Tim E. Darsaut - 2024 - Journal of Medicine and Philosophy 49 (4):389-398.
The temptation to use prospective observational studies (POS) instead of conducting difficult trials (RCTs) has always existed, but with the advent of powerful computers and large databases, it can become almost irresistible. We examine the potential consequences, were this to occur, by comparing two hypothetical studies of a new treatment: one RCT, and one POS. The POS inevitably submits more patients to inferior research methodology. In RCTs, patients are clearly informed of the research context, and 1:1 randomized allocation between experimental (...)

Māturīdī Emphasis on Ottoman Kalam - An Analysis within the Context of Takwīn Debates in the Supercommentaries of Sharh al-‘Akāid.Mustafa Aykaç - 2020 - Kader 18 (1):1-30.
In this study, some postscripts (Ḥashiyah) written on Sharḥ al-Aqâid in the Ottoman Empire were examined and their sectarian identities were tried to be determined in the context of the Takwīn. Our aim is to determine the correctness of the opinion that the Ottoman Empire adopted the Ash’arism based on the reading of Ash’arian kalâm books in the Ottoman madrasahs. The book of al-Taftâzânî named Sharḥ al-Aqâid is an important kalâm book that was read together with its postscripts in the (...)

Women's Interest in The Science of Fiqh in The Frame of The Hanafi Sect.Adnan Hoyladi - 2022 - Cumhuriyet İlahiyat Dergisi 26 (1):5-21.
From past to present, women's access to social life and their preoccupation with science has been a problematic issue in all societies. Hz. Mohammad gave importance to the woman, who was worthless in the period of ignorance, in a way that it is not possible to come across her husband in the rest of the world, and gave them access to social life, mosques and scientific assemblies. However, since the period of the Companions, women's access to mosques and scientific (...)
